People who haven't seen my work often ask me what style I work in. My answer is complicated, yet simple: My style is really a method. I work empathetically, passionately and eclectically. The results are often fun, sensual, artsy and contemporary, but always honest. Documentary? Photojournalistic? Maybe. Real? Definitely.
Over the years I've found a few like minded souls who now work with me capturing weddings. Carolina, Emily & Sara and I all share a passion for art and architecture and we really, really understand what it takes to capture a wedding day meaningfully, joyfully and with great artistry. So, while family formals are always on the list of wedding "dos", we specifically work to capture the individual qualities of each couple and the special ambiance of each wedding. No detail is off limits, no love story too big to tell and we ensure that every bride and groom will remember their day not just with pictures, but with art. I recently added the phrase "for those who love love" to my logo because it's true. My photos are for men & women, parents, lovers, best friends - anyone who loves love.
I am an Atlanta native but met a wonderful Milwaukeean who I eventually married in. After receiving a B.A. in Art (Photography) at Smith College in and a Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology I happily relocated to Milwaukee's Third Ward with our cat and a bunch of camera gear. I practice many passions in my life, including art, photography, architecture, travel, running, and teaching - all of which make me a better photographer.
I met Carolina in architecture school where she studied Urban Planning after practicing architecture in Brazil. Emily started UW-Milwaukee intending to major in architecture but was pulled to photography which she ultimately majored in. Sara was an art history major and knows way too much about ancient to early Medieval church architecture, much of which she shares with me when we shoot at some of Milwaukee's older more formal churches.
I was accepted to the Wedding Photojournalist Association in 2008 and between us all we have photos in many magazines and on-line publications. Check out the PRESS page for more recent publications! Become a fan on Facebook and be updated when new engagement and wedding sessions are posted.
While we mostly do Wisconsin and Chicago wedding and family photography we are available for shoots anywhere in the world, including destination weddings.
